Computer Worst Viruses of All Time

Viruses are being created for several years before, which are sometimes apractical joke but they also cause annihilation. Previously the computer viruses were stored on a disk and circulated by humans. When the internetachieved popularity, the spread of computer viruses became a grave problem. If you keep your antivirus software up to date and use caution when you receive e-mails you can keep your computer safe. Here is list of  the 10 worst viruses of all time for computers.


1. The Melissa Virus


It was produced in 1999 on the base of a Microsoft Word macro. It was circulated through an email message connection. When the attachment was clicked the virus went out to the top 50 persons in your contact book. So, the virus increased very briskly and became reasons of problems in the US to the government and the private sector. The inventor of the virus was sent behind the bars for 20 months and a fine of $5,000.

2. The ILOVEYOU


This virus was originated in 2000 and was a worm written in Visual Basic Scripting which was self replicating. The virusmoved via email and instant message subscribers with the subject line, saying that it was from a surreptitious admirer. Thevirus was capable of copying itself, and conceal in different folders on the computer’s hard drive. The virus was able to filch passwords and email them to the hackers email address. It appeared that the ILOVEYOU virus caused damages of $10 billions.

3. The Klez


It was known in 2001 and it spread through email messages. It was quick and used malicious deception which made the virus email look as if it was being received from a person in your address book. It was ahorrible virus which could make your device useless. This virus could be a worm, Trojan horse, it could disable virus scanning software and pretend to be a virus removal software.

4. The Code Red and Code Red II Worms


It came to exist in 2001. If your computer was infected with the Code Red II worm a remote user was capable of controlling your computer via a backdoor, reach all information and perpetrate cyber crimes. Windows NT machines were tormented byCode Red worms which caused them to crash. Microsoft issued a security patch which protected your computer from infection.

5. The Nimda Virus


It also came into being in 2001 and spread with alacrity through email. It was formed to assault internet servers to bring them to a standstill. It also created backdoors for taking control of the equipment.

6. The SQL Slammer


This virus appeared in 2003 and was designed to assail web servers. This virus brought down The Bank of America’s ATM service and Continental Airlines had to annul flights due to electronic ticketing troubles. This virus was very swift and in fifteen minutes it had effected nearly half of the servers that are the pillars of the Internet.

7. The MyDoom


It also produced backdoors on computers and made problems for search engines by sending search requests and using email addresses. Search engines received millions of searches from ruined machines which retarded and crashed.

8. The Sasser


This virus attacked computer systems and made it difficult to shut your computer down without cutting the power. The virus extended over the web and downloaded in your apparatus.

9. The Netsky


It entered through email and manipulated a denial of service (DoS) attack which caused systems to disintegrate. The Sasser and Netsky viruses were designed by the same person who was a 17 year oldGerman named Sven Jaschan, who was not imprisoned due to his age.

10. The Storm Worm a Trojan horse


It came in 2006 and email messages carrying the virus had a subject line “230 dead as storm batters Europe.” The virus permitted hackers to capture computers and send spam. The virus spread through the downloading of fake links to news stories and videos with the subject line changing to replicate current news events. This virus had been observed on more than 200 million emails.
